Spermidine is a naturally occurring polyamine found in foods like wheat germ, aged cheeses, and legumes. It's present in every cell in the body, and intake from food tends to decline as we get older.
Our spermidine is derived from wheat germ extract, providing 2mg of spermidine per capsule. Most human research to date has used daily doses in the 1.2–2mg range, making this a dose that sits comfortably within the studied range while staying well under the European Food Safety Authority's (EFSA) upper safety intake of 6mg per day for food-derived spermidine.
We've chosen wheat germ-derived spermidine specifically because it has been used in human clinical trials and has an established food safety profile. Synthetic spermidine, by contrast, hasn't been evaluated to the same standard for human use.
